Skelhorn Clays operates on an event-based schedule rather than fixed daily hours. Competition shoots run on set Sundays, while Have-a-Go sessions and coaching are available by appointment Monday to Saturday.

Before You Visit

Competition Sundays
Registration opens from 8:00am. Breakfast available. First squad at 9:00am. You don't need to pre-book for competition shoots — just turn up, sign in, and shoot. Results same day.
Have-a-Go Sessions
Must be booked in advance. Available Monday to Saturday. Minimum 2 people, maximum 20. Full English breakfast included. Allow 2–3 hours for the full experience.
Coaching
One-to-one and small group coaching by appointment. Contact us to arrange a time that suits. Gun fit checks available. Bring your own gun or use ours.
Weather
We shoot in all weather — it’s Lancashire. Events are rarely cancelled. Dress for the conditions and wear sturdy footwear. The ground can be muddy after rain.
What to Bring
Competition shooters: your own gun, cartridges, ear & eye protection, and shotgun certificate. Have-a-Go guests: just yourself — we provide everything.
